Security is one of IDM’s long-established program which generates independent analysis and resources for enhancing security sector governance, capacities to better serve as part of the Euro-Atlantic security community, and knowledge for addressing challenges related to national and regional security, including contemporary threats such as violent extremism, organized crime and foreign influences.[/box]

This program area aims to offer comprehensive and timely analysis on the challenges of the western Balkans in their path towards EU accession, to encourage informed debate on opportunities of regional cooperation and to bring a WB regional perspective on contemporary EU reforming issues.[/box]

IDM work in this program contribute towards sustainable development and social cohesion through supporting the consolidation of local democracy and governance, and through empowering local communities and stakeholders. LGID works to promote citizen participation in local decision-making, to improve accountability of local governance, improve understanding and capacities for EU and other instruments for community-led socio-economic development.[/box]

The Facts & Space Program represents a crosscutting areas within IDM designed as a policy lab with primary objective to advance fact-based policy analysis and to broaden space for enhanced role of civil society and interest groups (private, academia, media etc.) in governance and inclusive policy-making.[/box]
