IDM is pleased to announce the opening of the “Call for Papers” Vol. 34 of the European and Security Affairs Journal.

With the purpose of promoting comprehensive research and policy options in the current proposed issues, IDM’s Center for European & Security Affairs invites scholars, researchers, public policy practitioners, and MA/PhD candidates to submit their original papers (comparative or single case studies) to be published in the 34th issue of the Journal.

This volume of the ESA Journal will be dedicated mainly to the following thematic areas:

  • How will the new US presidency affect NATO? Status quo or more uncertainty?
  • Ethnic nationalism and security in the Balkans
  • Good governance and democratic institutions

Papers’ Format:

  • MS Word Document
  • Papers should be written in Chicago referencing style
  • Times New Roman, 12pt, single space
  • Length from 5000 – 7000 words (footnotes included)
  • in English or Albanian language

The authors are invited to submit an abstract of the paper (max. 500 words) and a short bio (max. 150 words) via e-mail to: [email protected].

Deadline for abstracts is June 20th, 2017.

Final deadline for papers is July 10th, 2017.

 About the Journal

The European and Security Affairs Journal aims to inform the Albanian public on key reforming security issues of local, regional and international concern. In addition, it intends to stimulate debate, analysis and policy discourse on these issues that combine conceptual and empirical analyses in the following areas: security sector reform and performance, European and global security trends, NATO current and future priorities and challenges, Albanian security sector reforms, etc.

The ESA Journal is composed of two main parts. The first one is made of original articles from regional and local authors and the other part is a summary of the most important ideas reflected in the selected articles relevant to the topic, written by international scholars.

In the long run, the ESA Journal aims to become a leading publication in the field for academics, universities and all other targeted security sector institutions. The European and Security Affairs Journal is supported by the NATO Public Diplomacy Division.
