Trainings: Supporting Social Inclusion of Roma and Egyptian Communities

Trainings – Korce 23-24 September; Berat: 03-04 October; Vlora: 10-11 October 2013

Institute for Democracy and Mediation, Department for Local Governance and Integrated Development organized 3 two-day trainings on Participatory Strategic Planning in the framework of assisting the preparation of Roma/Egyptian community development plans under UNDP/SSIREC project.

The trainings were organized specifically at Grand Hotel, Korce on 23-24 September, at Tomorri Hotel, Berat on 03-04 October and Partner Hotel, Vlora on 10-11 October 2013.

The trainings conducted aimed to introduce the participatory strategic planning methodology to all relevant stakeholders at local and regional level in Korca, Berat and Vlora and to build their commitment in this process.

The trainings enhanced capacities of public authorities and civil actors on how to design Roma/Egyptian Community Development Plans.

60 participants from the relevant stakeholders dealing with Roma/Egyptian Community issues in the three regions participated actively in the trainings.

A combination of formal presentations with practical techniques and inter-active working groups was adopted.
