National Conference – 5 July 2013 – Kukes

Mr. Sotiraq Hroni, Executive Director of Institute for Democracy and Mediation, as a panelist in the Seminar on Decentralisation organised in Kukes by the Assembly of European Regions and Kukes Regional Council, held a presentation on “For a bottom up approach to regional development”.

Mr. Hroni emphasized the role of regional authorities as key actors in regional development initiatives through encouraging citizen participation and local communities.

The speech was focused on the bottom up regional development through tripartite partnerships public authorities – private sector – civil society.

This partnership model supported and advocated by IDM has proven to be a sustainable and efficient model for socio-economic development.
