Policy Forum: Reintegration of Albanian Returned migrants in the Labour Market
24 November, at 10:00
Hybrid Format
Attendance: Registration required
Over the last few years, Albania has experienced a massive wave of returned migrants and asylum seekers from EU countries. The first group is composed of economic migrants that return from countries that were mostly affected by the economic crises, such as Greece, Italy and other countries.
On the other hand, the second group is composed of repatriated Albanian citizens who have been refused asylum in EU countries. In practice, reintegration support for returnees is mainly project-based, highly fragmented, limited and not sustainable overtime.
The Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) supported by Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung presents the findings of a research on the reintegration of returned migrants in the Albanian labour market.
The study aims to shed light on reintegration strategies and challenges they face upon their return. Bringing together migration and employment experts, the Forum will also address the potential and human capital that returnees can bring back and invest for the development of the origin country.
