This conclusion is based on the limited statistics on current flows and on potential emigration data, which show that the intention to emigrate from Albania is high. Consequently, Albania, although almost in the middle of its fourth decade of international migration, is still far from completing its migratory transition. In addition to the economic factors, the emigrants emphasize the factors related to the lack of economic, social and political perspective in Albania. Certain and more qualified segments of migrants, such as students, professionals, etc. they emphasize the lack of physical and social infrastructure, dim career prospects, dissatisfaction with the political culture of corruption and nepotism, etc., and a general sense that ‘there is no future in Albania’. In the absence of this perspective, many young people choose the path of emigration.
