Institute for Democracy and Mediation, with the support of the Balkan Trust for Democracy and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung organized the Regional Seminar “Results Based Management: For effective good governance.” This activity is part of a larger project which aims to encourage the introduction of a real perception of performance management in municipalities.
A readiness assessment was finalized by the IDM team aiming to identify current capacities and effective ways to monitor and assess current capabilities and efficient ways to monitor and evaluate activities of the municipality as a first step toward the introduction of the results of the assessment related to Results Based Management (MBR) in the local governance. Evaluation included 9 municipalitiesrespectively Shkodra, Lezha, Durres, Pogradec, Vlora, Shijaku, Rreshen, Librazhd and Gjirokastra.
Assessment findings were shared with all stakeholders among the staff and members of municipal councils of municipalities and local agencies involved in the assessment.
Moreover two regional seminars were organized in Durres and Lezha with the participation of major parties and coalitions´ mayor candidates from all over Albania. The purpose of this initiative is to increase awareness of the leading candidates for Mayor in order to include in their electoral platforms the practices of results based management.
