Round Table 27 October 2010 – Tirane

Institute for Democracy and Mediation in cooperation with Gender Alliance for development Centre and with the support of World Bank organizes in Tirana, on 27th October 2010, the Round Table “Empowering Albanian Rural Woman: Economic and social Perspectives”. In the frame of this activity, IDM with GADC have completed a policy brief, which sums up the nowadays socio-economic situation of woman in Albanian rural areas as well as concrete recommendations that would improve her situation.

The realization of this round table follows the celebration of the International ay of Rural Woman and aims to raise awareness of various public and private actors, at the national and local level, with the aim of addressing the challenges rural women are
facing today in the country. Participants to this table will be leaders and representatives from civil society in Albania, specialists of relevant public institutions and representatives of academia.
