Context Analysis of the Security Sector Reform Launched in Brussels

IDM fellow researcher Arjan Dyrmishi, represented IDM in the launch of the publication “Context Analysis of the Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans” in the framework of the project Mapping and Monitoring Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans. The event took place in the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels.

Together with members of the project’s consortium they addressed the questions on: representativeness of women and national minorities within the Security sector, access to information, procurement and critical areas of the control and oversight over Security sector actors. Context Analysis on Security Sector Reform in Albania, intends to give a general overview of the security sector evolution by taking into consideration the relations between actors and the political & social implications.

“Mapping and Monitoring the Security Sector Reform (SSR)” is a project that endeavors to provide an assessment system of the existing resource and capacity gaps in the security sector reform and its actors, (state and non-state). This project aims to initiate regular monitoring of the progress of Albania’s security sector reform and integration.
