Public Hearing on the functional model of Local Action Groups according to the LEADER approach | October 28, 2022
With the aim of mobilizing the political will that prioritizes, supports and encourages the implementation of the LEADER approach, IDM will facilitate the organization of a public hearing with members of the Parliamentary Committee on Productive Activity, Trade and Environment and representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for the purpose of post-legislative control and to operationalize the implementation of the legal provisions for this approach and the awareness of possible risks that accompany the implementation of local initiatives of the LEADER approach.
Therefore, the hearing will be organized at the Local Action Group “Pro-Përmet” in Përmet to see closely the journey of creating this tripartite partnership structure, the process, the challenges and the way forward in contributing to revitalized rural communities. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) is drafting the sub-legal basis that facilitates the implementation of the Law.
During the activity, member organizations of the Albanian Network for Rural Development (ANRD) will present their recommendations and initiatives to advance the implementation of community-led local development.
Guests will also be invited from the Municipality of Përmet and Këlcyre, various actors engaged in LEADER approach initiatives from different areas of Albania, ANRD member organizations and other interested actors.
This activity takes place within the framework of “Support for Parliament and Civic Education in Albania” #PACEP, a project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) Embassy of Switzerland in Albania and implemented by NDI Albania – National Democratic Institute.
