Branding: Paving the Path for Promoting and Protecting Local Products in the Cross-Border Region – Exchange Study Tour

Exchange Study Tour – 29 May 2013 – Dibra Region

Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Development (ALKA) organised the exhange study tour activity in the framework of the project  “Branding: Paving the Path for Promoting and Protecting Local Products in the Cross-Border Region”. Albanian farmers and representatives of local and regional authorities, namely Dibra Regional Council, National Food Authority in Dibra, Regional Directorate of Agriculture participated in the exchange study tour organised in the region of Mavrovo and Rostuse in Macedonia.

The exchange study tour aimed to provide opportunities to share experiences among Albanian and Macedonian farmers and responsible authorities on promoting and branding local agricultural products.

Participants were enabled to visit the traditional farm of the milk processing, the farm of the honeybees and the newly IPARD investment in Zirovnica village for the processing of milk and its sub-products. The exchange study tour was finalized with a short visit in the Touristic Info Point in Mavrovo, where participants were introduced to the touristic facilities offered.

Macedonian farmers and representatives from local institutions are expected to visit their counterparts in Dibra on the 5th of June to share their experiences and learn from each other.
