The roundtable will have two separate sessions focussed on PAR at the central level, and PAR at the local level.

The first session will present report findings of the third monitoring cycle of PAR 2021/ 2022 for Albania. The report contains comparative data spanning from 2017-2022 and across the Western Balkans states, noticing progress and regress in the implementation of PAR in the monitored areas. The presentation will be followed by a discussion among representatives of public institutions engaged in PAR, member organizations of the PAR National Working Group in Albania, and other stakeholders or experts of the field.

The second session of the roundtable will discuss the role of citizen engagement in local-level PAR. Six civil society organizations (CSO) will present projects implemented through the WeBER 2.0 small grants facility “Local Civil Society in PAR”, during 2021-2022. CSOs have monitored various aspects of PAR at local level government, such as transparency, accountability, public consultation, participatory budgeting, etc., in various municipalities of the country.

The roundtable will be held online, on the Zoom platform, on June 20, 2023, Tuesday, from 10:00 to 11:35. The meeting will be held in Albanian, providing simultaneous translation to English. To confirm your participation, please register by clicking the Zoom registration link.

This roundtable is part of the regional project WeBER 2.0 “Western Balkan Civil Society Empowerment for a Reformed Public Administration”, implemented by the Think for Europe Network and funded by the European Union and other donors.
