Consultative forum on the new draft Code of Ethics of State Police

The Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM) in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Albanian State Police organized a Consultative Forum on the new draft Code of Ethics. The event was organized within the framework of IDM project ‘Building Police Integrity in Albania’ supported by the MATRA Program. The project has encouraged a proactive approach by relevant institutions to act on strengthening police integrity in Albania, based also on IDM’s assessment findings. The new draft was prepared by the Working Group established by an Order of Minister of Interior (date 22.09.2014) and further assisted by IDM project with relevant data, insights and evidence.

The presentation and discussion of the new draft code was co-chaired by the deputy Minister of Interior, Mr. Ilirjan Mustafaraj and IDM executive, Sotiraq Hroni. the Deputy Head of Mission of the Dutch Embassy in Tirana, Mr. Gilles Bauwens addressed the event which was attended by multiple stakeholders, amongst which representatives of the Albanian State Police, international organizations and civil society organizations.

Recommendations, comments and suggestions stemming from the forum discussions was submitted to the Working Group along with an analysis prepared by IDM team.
