Trainings: Rural Development and Extension Service in Albania

Trainings – Tiranë 11 July 2013 & Fier 12 July 2013

Institute for Democracy and Mediation, Local Governance and Integrated Development Department in partnership with Albanian Agro-Environmental Association has organized a series of trainings “Rural Development and Extension Service in Albania” on 11 July 2013 at Capital Tirana Hotel, Tirana and on 12 July at Fieri Hotel in Fier. These trainings were organized in the framework of the project “Western Balkan Rural Extension Network through Curriculum Reform” funded by Tempus IV Programme of European Union. A total of 51 extension specialists participated in these two trainings.

The trainings aimed to enhance capacities of Albanian extension specialists by introducing the main principles and the recent trends of rural development in Europe, which will contribute directly to the economic empowerment and social cohesion of the population in rural areas. IDM staff, Mr. Enea Hoti and Ms. Orsiola Kurti together with Ms. Tatjana Dishnica, Director of Extension Services in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Protection and Ms. Etleva Dashi, Lecturer of Agriculture University of Tirana transferred the accumulated knowhow and skills on rural development to the extension services focal points at local level.
