SEEDS project: First training workshop

 

seeds artelaThe first SEEDS workshop was held on October 13-15, 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia. Nineteen people from seven consortium partner institutions were present; including SEEDS Advisory Board member and Associate Director of the UK Data Archive Hilary Beedham attended the workshop. The meeting provided an overview of best practices and how to run a data service in Western Balkan countries. Other practical matters were covered, such as staffing, website creation and maintenance and software for managing the archive workflow.seeds belgade In addition, the workshop also addressed ethical issues in data handling – protecting confidentiality, including how to develop and use contracts, etc. During the three day workshop, demonstrations were given on various aspects by experienced archives from Slovenia (ADP), Switzerland (FORS), and the United Kingdom (UKDA).
