Threat Perceptions in the OSCE Area

Department: CESA

Duration: October 2013- April 2014

Project Description:

The objective of the project is to analyze and compare the threat perceptions of 18 governments of the OSCE participating states. It aimed to address a broad spectrum of threat perceptions based on 18 country reports from OSCE Network of Think Tanks and Academic Institutions. Threat perceptions analysis of relevant state actors is based on two main categories of threats: military threats and transnational threats.

Within this project, mapping threat perception will contribute to give a more solid background for current and future debates within the OSCE. On this basis, the study called “Threat perceptions in the OSCE area”, study compares states’ main threat perceptions to find out which are shared and where they diverge and provides a background information for the OSCE’s Helsinki+ 40 process.
