Tuesday, 1 January, 2008 to Monday, 30 June, 2008
Project Description:

Donor: East East: Partnership Beyond Borders Program; US Embassy in Tirana.
Partners: Macedonian Centre for International Cooperation (MCIC) and Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED)

The aim of the project was to promote best experiences and practices of community mobilization and community participation at the regional level (Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia); raise awareness among local actors and decision-makers in the target countries on the necessity of and benefits from community participation schemes and enhance capacities of the target group (through information and training) to develop and utilize best practices of community mobilization and citizens’ participation in local governance. After a regional round table and two regional advocacy tours a publication was finalized in May 2008 on “Regional Best Practices on Community Participation in the Local Governance Decision-Making Process”, published in Albanian and Macedonian together with an English Summary.
