CSS SERVICES

The Center for Security Studies will work to achieve its mission and objectives through carrying out various activities related to:

• Research & Studies - CSS will struggle to bridge the gap between the academic and policy communities through sound policy frameworks that address peace and security concerns. In this context, excellence in the analysis of the multiplicity of factors influencing national / regional security developments will remain CSS’ guiding principle.

• Teaching & Training – CSS will contribute towards the consolidation of a new generation of experts, scholars, policy and decision makers in Albania and the region, fully equipped with skills and potential to address complex security concerns. In addition, CSS’ intention is to develop a modern postgraduate academic programme on security matters in the country thus filling in the existing gap in this academic field.

• Publications & Information – CSS will improve understanding of strategic challenges among members of the academic and policy making community in Albania and the Balkan region through publications and reports on various aspects of nowadays security environment. IDM will work with its international partners, leading think tanks and academic institutions in the region to develop a contemporary resource center with online information services available to practitioners, scholars and researchers etc.

CSS will encourage continuous dialogue, consultations and cooperation between the academics, think tanks and policy makers in the region and beyond through various national, regional and international events – conferences, trainings, summer schools and workshops.
